Plant Source

Pears are a tree plant from the Rosaceae family, with a broad crown and sturdy young branches covered with fine hairs. The fruit is oval or nearly spherical, slightly flattened, and brown when mature. Flowers are white, and blooming occurs in April, with fruiting in August to September.
Plant Characteristics: Pear trees have alternate, serrated or entire leaves, and may have stipules. The trees usually flower in early to mid-February with white flowers. After pollination, the fruit develops, the receptacle turns into flesh, the ovary becomes the core, and the ovules turn into seeds.
Distribution: Pears originated in Central Asia and are distributed in China across Hebei, Shandong, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces, as well as Italy, the USA, Spain, the former Soviet Union, and France.
Growing Conditions: Pears are cold-hardy, drought-tolerant, flood-resistant, and can withstand saline-alkaline conditions. They prefer sunny, warm environments and grow best on deep, well-drained slopes, ideally in sandy loam. Pears are primarily propagated through grafting.
Main Value: Pears are rich in vitamins and minerals, maintaining cell health. However, they should be avoided by those with weak spleen or stomach, loose stools, or cough without phlegm, and diabetics should limit their intake. Known for their juiciness and sweet-tart flavor, pears are often referred to as “natural mineral water.”
